- 1930ΓÇÖs was different from
- the way it is today. Women
- did not usually perform
- jumps or spins, since such
- moves were considered unladylike. But
- Sonja was a spectacular skater, and she
- was among the first to add jumps and other
- moves from ballet to her programs. And her
- style of dress, including skirts that ended
- above the knee, came to be accepted, too.
